Day 48 – I think that every girl should have a tiara. Yes, even the little sporty princesses should have a crown – maybe with basketballs attached at the points.
I don't ever recall wanting to be in a pageant but I do recall wanting the crown. I even had a youth grouper that researched all the pageants that she could be in to make sure that regardless of the place, she would get a crown. Maybe that is why mom's are so obsessed with entering their children into pageants because they, themselves wanted a crown as a young child. I truly think that all girls, somewhere deep in their heart, would love to be treated as and seen as a princess. One that is held with high regard, looked up to, thought of as beautiful and loved by all. I would even venture a guess that men aren't far off that mark either. They want to be deeply respected and revered by all around them not much different than a king.
Truthfully, it only makes sense that we would want a crown. After all, we are royalty! Yes, you heard me right. It is due to one crown that we are royalty, the crown of thorns. It is Jesus royal blood running through your veins. It is because of the crown that he wore that we are deemed royal. God has us here to see His plan through.
I have been blessed to be studying Beth Moore's Esther Bible study. It is such a reminder that even though we might have an earthly crown of importance, it isn't until we are at a decision point with God and showing His crown and love that life matters. We can be seen as important here, but if our heart does not lie with God then it really doesn't matter. We are here as his prince or princess to complete the tasks he lays before us.
1 Peter 2: 9-12
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us
While we may not actually possess a tiara, we must always wear that crown of righteousness upon our heads knowing that we are God's special messengers and his princes and princesses. Wear your tiara or crown with pride and most importantly LOVE.
